Millfield Nursing and Residential Home

Millfield Nursing & Residential Care Home is situated in the iconic town of Bolsover, Derbyshire. The town is famed for Bolsover Castle and being home to Creswell Caves, Britain’s only known Palaeolithic cave art. Providing both nursing and residential care to a total of 45 residents on a permanent and respite basis.

The care needs of residents comes first, before new residents are accepted at Millfield, the Home Manager will complete a care needs assessment. This involves the Manager coming to visit you and taking information on all existing health conditions and the areas you feel you need support with. This allows for a care plan to be put in place for your arrival and any necessary equipment to already be in place. Care plans are monitored and updated on a continual basis to ensure they are in line with your current care needs.

All residents have their own bedroom, including all furniture and en-suite bathroom. We encourage residents to view Millfield as their home and as such they are free to personalise their rooms. If you wish to bring any larger items of furniture with you then please discuss with our Manager ahead of moving in.

For those living in our nursing suite there is a nurse on duty 24-hours a day – so no matter what time of the night it is then the right support is always on hand. Nurses are supported by a team of trained Care Assistants who are also on hand throughout the day and night.

Communal areas of the home are the perfect place for residents to socialise with visitors and fellow residents. They also play host to a range of daily activities and events organised by our Activities Coordinator. Millfield is very much integrated with the local community and welcomes local groups and schools into the home.
