Amarna House Care Home, situated in the Acomb district of York just off the A59 Boroughbridge Road has been serving residents from across North Yorkshire for the last ten years and offers some of the finest residential, dementia and nursing care in the region.

The home is warm and welcoming and built to a high specification and design. Light and airy bedrooms have walk-in wet rooms and TVs as standard, and lounges are attractively furnished with comfy chairs and sofas, occasional tables and bookcases.

We are special because we have: a large outdoor garden with communal spaces, an indoor garden for those unable to venture outside, an in-house café staffed by The Friends of Amarna House, a focus on dementia care, a hair salon, chiropody and many alternative therapy services & a dedicated cinema room.

Amarna House has established strong ties with local schools and associations that play a valuable role in ensuring residents remain part of the wider community. Students from local schools and colleges, including Millthorpe, All Saints School and Manor Church of England Academy Sixth Form, are regular visitors to Amarna, sitting and chatting to residents or getting involved with activities.

The weekly cost of care at Amarna House Care Home are subject to care assessment. We may accept residents who are funded by the Local Authority but this will be under our Manager's discretion.
