Benslow Nursing Home

Benslow Nursing Home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire offers respite, residential, palliative, convalescence, nursing and dementia care for elderly residents with a wide range of healthcare needs. Residents are at the heart of our home and are supported 24-hours a day by trained care professionals led by our experienced Management Team.

Our care home is conveniently located close to Hitchin’s local amenities and transport services, within walking distance of the town centre. The home has many spacious areas for residents to relax or socialise with friends and relatives including three lounges, a sensory room, cafe, beautiful landscaped sensory gardens, and a summer house.

All residents have private rooms and we have double rooms to accommodate couples. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms to make them their own space where they feel fully settled and comfortable in. Small pieces of furniture, space permitting, and providing they all meet health and safety regulations can be accommodated.

We offer a varied social programme of group and one to one activities. Our activities have included a World Food Day, charity cake sales and postcard appeal and we also organise trips outside the home. We welcome visitor participation in the activities we organise and have no restriction on visiting times.

Benslow Nursing Home specialises in freshly cooked, tasty food with plenty of choices. Our Home Chefs do their best to tempt even the smallest of appetites and the menus are updated regularly to incorporate suggestions from the residents association.

The weekly cost of care at Benslow Nursing Home is dependent on a care needs assessment. We are happy to accept residents who have been granted Continuing Healthcare Funding (CHC) and can support respite care and end of life care.
