Bluebell Park Care Home

Bluebell Park is one of Barchester’s primary care homes in the East Midlands. The home was a brand new purpose built home specifically designed to deliver first class quality residential and nursing care for older people, including those living with Alzheimer’s or a dementia.

For our residents with dementia it is really helpful if family members are able to support care-staff in putting together a Memory Book. Memory Books are a brilliant aide-memoire for residents and helps them to share their life-stories with staff and fellow residents.

The home first opened its doors in October 2010 and features 64 en-suite rooms furnished to an exceptional standard. BluebellParkfeatures a Memory Lane Community which is dedicated to providing stimulation in addition to security and first class care. Memory boxes are a key feature on the resident’s doors and we encourage families and resident’s to fill these with personal memorabilia such as photographs which are used to great effect to help each person reminisce.

Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low risk walkways and activity kitchens are there to enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks and pleasures. Essential to our homely feel is the enhanced relationship of trust built with family, friends and residents.

Before becoming a resident at Bluebell Park Care Home our Management Team will have met the prospective resident and conducted a Care Needs Assessment. This initial assessment allows the Care Home Manager to put a full Care Plan in place and order any special equipment ahead of the resident moving into the home.
