Burnworthy House is a prime example of the changing face of care homes in the UK.
Rapidly disappearing is the outdated idea that care homes need to be clinical, minimalistic and totally risk free.
Residents are encouraged to make full use of the communal areas, including lounges, the dining room, the hair salon and outdoor areas. Residents have the freedom and flexibility to pursue new or existing hobbies and interests, as supported by the Activities Co-ordinators in the home. This runs alongside a daily activities programme, which involves a variety of events and activities for residents to take part in, should they wish.
Good nutrition and hydration are an important part of staying well as we age. Burnworthy House is able to support people with a range of dietary requirements, including specialist diets, as we have our own highly skilled and imaginative kitchen team.

Residents are encouraged to put their own stamp on their bedroom and make it their own, putting up their own pictures and photos. Each room has an emergency call system and a vanity unit; most rooms have en-suite facilities. Whilst rooms are single, it may be possible to arrange shared accommodation. We have a hairdressing salon onsite with a professional hairdresser visiting twice a week. A doctor from the local surgery visits on a weekly basis and a chiropodist visits regularly.

Burnworthy House has been providing compassionate, high quality care in South Petherton since the 1970s. We strive to ensure that our home is a welcoming place and have been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC at their most recent inspection.
