Dudwell St Mary Care Home

Dudwell St Mary Care Home supports people with nursing and dementia care needs in Etchingham, East Sussex. The home has been converted from a former convent, it is as grand as it is unique. Etchingham is a picturesque village which is under 15 miles from both Royal Tunbridge Wells and Hastings.

We are able to support a maximum of 74 residents over the age of 55 at any one time. Personal care is provided discreetly within the resident’s own rooms; all rooms are fully furnished with an electric profiling bed. All of our residents are supported with their own personalised care plan which is constantly evolving based on their care needs and wishes.

Dementia care is provided in our Memory Lane Community; care is based on the individual needs of residents as well as incorporating the latest advancements in dementia care. Dudwell St Mary is part of Barchester Care Group and as such benefit from their national dementia programme. We want to provide our residents with the very best care, our Dementia of Director Care, Caroline Baker, is supported by dementia experts to deliver the very best in dementia care.

Our residents are encouraged to ‘get out and about’ and supported to partake in regular outings. We also love inviting local community groups and entertainers into the home. No matter the occasion, you can be certain that we will be celebrating - be it Easter, Christmas, a Royal wedding or a resident’s birthday!

There is always a ‘Menu’ for residents to choose from and meal-times are enjoyed in our dining room. Residents are very welcome to invite guests to join them for lunch or dinner. Residents have a choice of a hot or cold breakfast, a 2-course lunch and a 2-course dinner; nobody ever goes hungry. Dietitians support our kitchen team to cater for people with specially adapted diets
