The home has several comfortable areas for residents to relax with family and friends including our beautifully kept landscaped courtyard gardens and terraces where everyone can enjoy the changing seasons or do a spot of light gardening.

All residents have private en-suite bedrooms with an individual nurse call system. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with treasured possessions, and requests for small items of furniture can be accommodated subject to passing health and safety requirements.

Activities inside Hyllden Heights and local outings within the community are planned around the interests of our residents as well as trying to offer them something new. Our varied social programme of group and one-to-one stimulating activities includes arts and crafts, gardening club and trips to local attractions such as theatres and historical houses but participation is optional.

The Home Chefs specialise in sourcing quality ingredients for freshly cooked, flavoursome food with plenty of choice and special dietary needs catered for. We promote mealtimes as a social occasion but residents can choose where to have their meals.

Residents have access to a variety of culinary options from casual dining in the bistro to more formal restaurant dinners or private dining for family occasions. We also serve ‘celebration meals’, based on recipes created exclusively for Oakland Care by Michelin-starred chef Tim Allen.
