Mulberry House Residential care home in Newton Abbot, Devon, provides elderly residential care for individuals with a range of needs including frail elderly and early dementia. The home accepts both full time residents and respite care subject to room availability.
Mulberry House has 42 bedrooms on the ground and first floors. All are wheelchair accessible and all have ensuites. There is a range of rooms you can choose from, some with access to the terrace, some with beautiful views, and whether you prefer to be in a peaceful part of the house or in the midst of all the action, we will find you your perfect room. There are a few select suites in the house which are very spacious and could accommodate a couple if desired.
Mulberry House has several zones, some have features which form part of the original architecture and others are new extensions, allowing us to cater to both traditional and modern tastes. As well as a light and airy dining room, there are 3 lounges all with different themes: Dartmoor Library, Brimley Vale Tea Room and The Aviary. Dartmoor Library is a traditional style, cosy lounge – the perfect place to go to relax and read a book. Brimley Vale Tea Room is our bright, social lounge with a tea and coffee machine and fresh cakes on request; an ideal area to entertain guests. The Aviary is our tranquil living room full of foliage and calming green tones.
We have extensive gardens full of beautiful trees and flowers at Mulberry House which you can explore. The dining room also leads out onto an accessible terrace, as does The Aviary and many of the bedrooms, perfect for eating al fresco on warm, summer days.
The activities schedule has been carefully put together to include activities for everyone. Activities take place every weekday and over some weekends. Regular events are held to mark special celebrations which we encourage all relatives and friends to join us for. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for details! We also have frequent outings to local areas of interest and trips into town in small groups for those who are able. If any resident has a special request for an outing or activity, we will do our very best to make it happen!
