Pemberley House Care Home

Pemberley House is situated next to the Golden Lion roundabout in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Our residential care home became a member of the Avery Healthcare family of award winning care homes in 2017. Since then, Avery has been working hard to ensure that Pemberley House matches other Avery homes in its supportive, vibrant and companionable atmosphere, providing residents with stimulation and activity, as well as engagement with other residents, families and with life in general.

Round-the-clock compassionate care and active minds and bodies come as standard, and so does a recognition of the importance of good lines of communication with friends and family. After all, adjusting to life in a retirement home after a lifetime of independence can be a challenging time.

We encourage our residents to make their bedrooms, all of which come with en-suite wet rooms, TV and telephone points as personal as they would like them to be and to enjoy having familiar and favourite things around them. Each floor of the home has its own small-scale lounges and dining rooms. The ground floor café is a popular meeting area, especially on coffee mornings.

Residents enjoy armchair exercises, the arts and crafts club, sewing, growing herbs and vegetables in the raised beds and watching all the birds on the bird feeders. The garden is a sun trap and a lovely place for a morning coffee or afternoon tea and having a good old chinwag. We have our own minibus which finds its way to the local Basingstoke and Hampshire sites of interest, the shops or the local pub for lunch. We work up an appetite which serves us well when meal times come around.

All our food is cooked on the premises and offers good nutrition and variety, although we always like some good old fish and chips on a Friday and roast dinners on a Sunday. All special diets can be taken care of and healthy snacks, cakes and biscuits are always on offer throughout the day if a top-up is needed.
