South Moor Lodge Care Home

The best way to decide if South Moor Lodge is suitable for you, or your relative, is to come have a look around and get a feel for the friendly and homely environment it provides. This will give you the chance to meet and talk with the staff and residents and their friends and families.

We also offer respite care facilities, so if you would like to use the service for a short period of time, whether as a one-off or from time to time as needed, we can accommodate you.

South Moor Lodge has five different reception rooms catering for all tastes and preferences, including a television room, a quiet room and two dining rooms. This allows us to offer all our residents a varied and full activities programme, including outside entertainment, seven days a week. There’s also cinema room with a super large screen for film afternoons!

South Moor Lodge has 40 bedrooms, all of which are a good size, with our average room being approximately 16 square meters. All our bedrooms also have full wet room facilities. The majority of our ground floor bedrooms open onto their own patio area. We also have many communal patio and garden areas for all our residents to enjoy time outside.

All of our residents have their own bedroom which they are encouraged to make their own. All rooms come equipped with electric profiling beds and furnishings. Should a new resident wish to bring their own items of furniture then providing they pass health and safety regulations we will do our best to accommodate this.

For our residents with dementia it is really helpful if family members are able to support care-staff in putting together a Memory Book. Memory Books are a brilliant aide-memoire for residents and helps them to share their life-stories with staff and fellow residents.
