The Gables Retirement Home

The Gables Care & Retirement Home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire is a specialist Dementia and Residential Care Home providing respite, residential, and dementia care to residents with a range of healthcare needs. The home’s friendly and caring staff liaise closely with healthcare professionals and are on hand twenty four hours a day.

The Gables Care & Retirement Home is situated in the village of Holmewood, close to local shops, amenities and transport services and a short journey from Chesterfield town centre. The home’s recently refurbished facilities include the new cinema room, Serene shop, in-house hair salon and sensory room.

All residents have their own private bedrooms with television and telephone points. We have shared rooms to support couples. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with treasured belongings, and requests for small items of furniture can be accommodated subject to meeting health and safety requirements.

There is a choice of bright and comfortable areas to relax with friends and relatives including a lovely enclosed garden which residents can access freely. The Home has an “Open Visiting Policy” with no restrictions on visiting times and small well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement with the manager.

The Gables Care & Retirement Home specialises in freshly cooked, seasonal, tasty food with plenty of choice and residents can choose where to have their meals. We are able to support people with a range of dietary requirements. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and evening.

We offer a daily activities programme with a wide range of group and one to one activities, designed around the interests of our residents as well as trying to offer them something new. Residents are encouraged and supported to pursue their hobbies and pastimes within the local community. Regular events include live entertainment, day trips and local outings.
