The Rubens

The Rubens is a residential care home in Newport, supporting up to 26 residents over the age of 65 with dementia, palliative, respite, day care and physical difficulties.

We encourage residents to make full use of shared areas at The Rubens including our comfy lounges, the dining room and outdoor areas. Residents are also encouraged to put their own spin on their bedrooms to ensure that they feel at home. It is important that their bedrooms are a space that they feel fully settled and comfortable in.

All the residents at The Rubens have their own unique, personalised care plan. A care plan takes into account not only care needs but the resident’s wishes. The care plan is continually monitored and updated to account for any changes to care needs or personal wishes.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are the highlight of daily life at The Rubens. We place importance on protecting residents meal-times as good nutrition and hydration are key to staying well. Our daily menu always offers a choice of at least 2 dishes for each meal time and individual dietary requirements are always catered for. Family members of residents are very welcome to ‘book-in’ and join us for a meal.
