Thorp House

Thorp House is a converted rectory situated in the quiet, rural village of Griston in Norfolk. The house is set in its own well-maintained grounds, has sunny patio areas and an area of wild pasture; a pair of resident peacocks can be seen strutting around the grounds.

Our friendly staff members are always pleased to welcome visitors to this pleasant home where we provide specialist nursing and dementia care.

Thorp House really benefits from a country house atmosphere. Converted to a residential home in the late 1970s, it sensitively combines Victorian grandeur with light and convenient modern rooms. Placed along the walls of the corridors there are interesting and stimulating things to look at, and nearby there are cosy places to sit and rest.

The home is very well appointed with a number of spacious, pleasant and well-equipped dining rooms, lounges and conservatories, and has a range of different sized and shaped private rooms, including self-contained bungalow style accommodation for the more independent residents.

There are also two beautiful resident peacocks who love to come and visit whilst wondering the grounds.
