Woodside Care Village

Woodside Care Village is a care home with family-sized households for adults, including people with mobility needs, dementia and hearing loss. We've designed the village to give you the opportunity to contribute to your new community as much, or as little, as you want to.

There are 12 households in the village, each of which is designed and decorated in one of three lifestyles based on the town, country and classical living. Up to seven people, who share similar care needs, interests and backgrounds, live together in each house, supported by a team of staff.

We dedicate two households at the village to our deaf service, Deafinitely Independent. And we train the staff who support our deaf residents in British Sign Language, as well as care and active support.

The village has its own café, hair salon, cinema, shop, launderette and spa bathroom for a complete bathing experience. Outside, the plaza has seating areas, a bike track for our side-by-side bike, outdoor gym equipment and water features. And there's a quiet area, sensory planting and raised beds. One of the Deafinitely Independent residents works alongside our gardener to maintain the flowerbeds and planting.

As part of our activity provision, WCS Care employs Community Musicians who deliver one-to-one or group music-based activities. And our dedicated Memory Maker minibus provides regular, local trips for residents, including those who need to use a wheelchair. Relatives are welcome to join these trips so families can make new memories together.

We’ve also invested in a raft of technology including specialist circadian rhythm lighting, smartphone apps and night-time acoustic listening which all help to improve the health and well-being of the people living with us.
