Yaxley House

Yaxley House is a specially converted Victorian country house with accommodation for 33 residents. It is set in an idyllic rural location in the village of Yaxley, not far from the charming small market town of Eye in rural Suffolk. It is just 20 miles to the north of Ipswich, the county town.

The home serves the wider community around the area of the Suffolk and Norfolk borders, including Eye, Stowmarket, Needham Market, Stuston, Wortham, Wetheringsett and the villages to the east of Bury St. Edmunds.

This residential home is a tasteful conversion of a beautiful Victorian country house. The modern wing does not detract from the aesthetically pleasing exterior and allows us to efficiently meet the local demand for our exceptional care. Attractive both inside and out, the home is set within four acres of extensive grounds and gardens which residents are free to enjoy at any time.

The home is very well appointed with private rooms, a companion suite, plus pleasant common areas, dining room and lounges, with a mixture of carpet and hard floorings. There are also many interesting and stimulating things to look at along the walls of the corridors, which interest everyone, especially those with a dementia. Residents’ rooms can be individualised according to their tastes; they are encouraged to bring in their own furniture for a more homely feel.

Installed in the building are hoists, accessible bathing facilities, lifts, and stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, and we have specialised mattresses, call bells, pressure mats and door alarms.
