Comfort House

Comfort House Care Home in Newcastle is registered to provide elderly residential care for up to 42 individuals with a range of needs. The home is close to shops and services and has good public transport links.

Our home is very much a part of the community as you’d expect in the north east! We make sure that all visitors to Comfort House are made welcome and well looked after, whoever they are.

Comfort House is a residential Care Home where most of our residents are mentally alert with a good sense of humour, which means that there’s a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere at all times.

The Bedroom are well appointed and large, all ensuite with showers, and there are good communal areas.

We encourage residents to stay alert and get involved in activities, Entertainers regularly come to the Home and we have weekly arts and crafts sessions and film shows.

We have a hairdresser and other professional services which visit the home weekly to ensure that all residents are well catered for

Our weekly drink is always a highlight of the week and family members are encouraged to come along too. We’re also involved with the Hen Power project, so we have three chickens in our garden, which the residents really enjoy looking after.

Many of our residents have lived all their lives in this part of the city, so we have lots of informal links with the wider community through families and friends. Our residents still go to local shops or the pub, which helps to bring continuity to their lives - a sense that they still belong to a wider community.
