Two miles south of the city of York, Ouse View is a purpose-built care home due to open its door to residents in late summer 2020. The home is set in secure, picturesque gardens, and is within walking distance to a variety of local shops and amenities. The renowned McArthurGlen Designer Outlet is also only minutes away by car or one of the area’s excellent local bus services.

Ouse View has been specifically designed to provide high-quality elderly care, including residential care, as well as care and support for individuals living with dementia.

The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such as adapted crockery and tableware, will assist with reminiscence. Communities will be broken up into small units with a family atmosphere so people can feel safe and comfortable.

Care will be focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels will reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia will be offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
