Regency House Care Home is a purpose-built 70-bedroom care home in Ely, on the outskirts of Cardiff, with 58 single bedrooms and 6 shared bedrooms, all en-suite. We are pleased to be able to offer award-winning design initiatives in addition to our high standards of residential and nursing care.

Our relationship-centred ethos, which recognises the unique needs and expectations of the individual, allows us to tailor a care package that ensures that we meet the emotional, physical and social well-being needs of the residents at our care home in Ely. We empower residents to carry on living a fulfilled life and support them to continue the everyday routines and activities they are used to but thought they may have left behind.

When you walk into Regency House Care Home, you are met with our bright and welcoming café, filled with the aroma of fresh coffee and homemade biscuits and cakes. Other facilities include a cinema room, a beautifully landscaped garden for residents to potter in, and a luxurious hair salon. There’s also a dedicated activities room where we run popular arts and craft sessions, and we also organise outings to local places of interest with the support of the Oomph! minibus. Residents are encouraged to live an active and independent life and we regularly evaluate our activity programme to reflect the changing needs and preferences of residents. Our visiting library club and shiatsu class have proven particularly popular as residents enjoy the familiarity of borrowing and discussing new books and enjoying a relaxing massage.

We know it can be stressful moving into a new environment so, in conjunction with family members, we ask residents to fill in an ‘About Me’ book so we can learn more about them and their lives and make the move to our Cardiff care home as smooth as possible. They can tell us about their hobbies and interests, likes and dislikes, their favourite foods, and what name they like to be known by. Anything that can help us to help them settle in more quickly at our care home in Cardiff and get back to their usual routine. We support residents, and their loved ones, to maintain their relationships and keep their close connection via various digital platforms such as iPads and Facebook Portal devices, which allow loved ones to see photos, send messages and share videos. This means you can still communicate with residents no matter how far away you may be.
