Situated on the edge of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, near the market town of Knaresborough, Thistle Hill Care Centre offers a friendly welcome to all which helps promote a true feeling of a 'home from home'.

Our dedicated and experienced team is passionate about providing first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in our Memory Lane Community. We also provide expert care for younger people with a physical disability or acquired brain injury, and have close links with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Thistle Hill recently became only the second Yorkshire care home (both are part of Barchester Healthcare) to be awarded the prestigious Quality of Life Kitemark for Dementia Care Matters’ Butterfly Service™ for providing outstanding and sustained dementia care to the community it serves. Being one of only 25 homes nationwide to have received this Award, we aim to recognise, support and celebrate each person's individuality.

If you've been granted funding from Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding, we will be able to support you at Thistle Hill Care Centre because we are a registered nursing home. Our cost per week greatly depends upon the complexity of a prospective residents care needs which will be determined by a Care Needs Assessment. We are able to support individuals with a wide range of care requirements including end of life care and respite care.
